About Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula

Community Caring Monterey Peninsula works as a catalyst within communities to educate all participants by teaching values through action. We work to close the gap between the classroom and the community by providing programs and projects that incorporate missing enrichment elements to grades K-12 that foster a balance of scholastic, service-minded and social skill sets which can be carried from adolescence toward success in adulthood.

PURPOSE:

Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula cultivates caring communities by bringing together resources that support education. Programs are selected or designed to enhance development of life skills so students connect their academic endeavors with future work and life goals.

Programs are offered to all students regardless of economic or demographic criteria. But our greatest emphasis is on reaching the middle-of-the-pack children, defined as the middle 50%, those who are not privileged to have access to either the social programs directed at the 25% who are least fortunate or the 25% who have access to a better than average array of non-school enrichment. Many times these are the kids who want to be noticed, but don’t raise their hands.
