What was Dare to Care Day? What would it be like if every person, business, school, and community organization on the Monterey Peninsula consciously completed one “act of caring” -- all on a specific day? Well, the challenge was on! Dare to Care Day on April 22 was a chance for people and organizations to stand up and be counted for making a difference around the Peninsula. From treating a co-worker to a cappuccino, having a one-day food drive, taking flowers to an elderly neighbor, or organizing a classroom or campus project, Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula seeks to collect the stories and document the number of participants that stood out to reflect our community spirit.
Tell us how you participated... We want you to tell us how YOU dared to care on April 22. You can use this submission form to report your activities.
Please, Dare to Care! In association with Earth Day and National Volunteer Week, Dare to Care Day is dedicated to the memory of Ruth Vreeland and her passionate caring for kids and community. To learn more, contact Tish Sammon at 646.3719 or sammon@ci.monterey.ca.us. |
