Thanks for making Dare to Care Day an enormous success!

Dare to Care Day on April 22 was a chance for people and organizations to stand up and be counted for making a difference around the Peninsula.  From treating a co-worker to a cappuccino, having a one-day food drive, taking flowers to an elderly neighbor, or organizing a classroom or campus project, Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula is now collecting stories that reflect community spirit.

We still want you to tell us how YOU dared to care on April 22.  A submission form to report your activities is available by clicking on the button at the left.  You can also FAX your info to 646.3793 or mail it to Tish Sammon, City Hall, Monterey, CA  93940.

In association with Earth Day and National Volunteer Week, Dare to Care Day is dedicated to the memory of Ruth Vreeland and her passionate caring for kids and community.  Click here for some ideas about how you can Dare to Care every day!

As part of the day's events, Community of Caring Monterey Peninsula awarded a special Certificate of Recognition to KION Television's Beverly Byer for her work to enhance cancer awareness in the community.  You can see a pdf of the certificate by clicking here.
